Old Dispensary (Ithnasheri Dispensary)
Walk back toward the port: a flamboyant 1887 building financed by a wealthy Indian merchant community, mixing Gothic, Victorian and Swahili details with carved balconies. Restored by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture; the ground floor cafe is a good espresso stop.

CARVED DOOR
Look up past the door to the carved balcony - the same workshops signed both. The Dispensary's doorway is one of the few in town combining Indian teak carving with European cast-iron trim.
