Kelele Square
A small palm-shaded square in Shangani named - locals joke - for the noise ('kelele') of children playing around an old cannon. The townhouses around it hide some of the best-preserved doorways in town; wander one street inward from the sea.

CARVED DOOR
Two doors across from each other here are a popular guide-book comparison: one in the old circular-pit style (said to date the house to before the 1840s redesign), one in the later rectanglar-bay style. Which is which is the test.
