Christ Church & Slave Market Memorial

The angriest and most important corner of Stone Town: an Anglican cathedral consecrated in 1874 on the exact site of the island's last open slave market. The courtyard holds a memorial sculpture of chained figures, and a small museum downstairs marks the holding cells. Built deliberately on the site by Bishop Edward Steere as a statement.
